Happy Mother’s Day

We at WRUFC appreciate the amazing lengths you mothers go to in giving up those lazy Sunday morning lay-ins, having to stand on the touch line (in all weathers) and the endless taxi, laundry and catering services you provide free to your children, free of charge, in the name of love….

As a BIG THANK YOU, and a small token of gesture, we would like to offer you wonderful mums a complimentary Tea or Coffee this Sunday.

Remember, drink responsibly.  Bring your own cup or mug and be even more superhero by saving the planet!

A CLEAN SWEEP!!

Our Warriors smashed out an amazing 38-48 victory on the road to Colchester on Saturday afternoon, while the Saxons were rampant against a very strong Mersea Island team winning 51-31 at home.

To finish the weekend in style, our Amazons gained a very close victory against the Lakenham Hewett Ladies with a 26-24 win at home today.

Furthermore, the Woodbridge Minis also had a great time at the Colchester Rugby Festival this morning, showing great form and receiving some positive feedback from the coaches!

Well done to all the teams that represented the club this weekend and thank you to our coaching staff, volunteers and proud mums and dads for the support given!

Our Club Needs You!

No rugby club, no matter how amazing they are….can’t function without it’s wonderful and slightly superhuman volunteers.

Woodbridge RUFC is no exception…

We aim BIG, however we also recognise that nothing great is achieved without you! And because we aim HIGH, this requires even more support.

Parents, members, sponsors, partners, fans, get involved, we call upon you now! Our skill sets are not just limited to “rugby”, we have some extraordinary talent at our club off the field too and we need you!!

Coming soon, we will be hosting an evening/weekend focusing on our wonderful volunteers to celebrate and promote the good work they provide to our club, we would welcome you along to this event to see if there is something you could also support us with.

Keep an eye on our website over the coming weeks and our social media for more info!

Our U16’s Are Just Unbeatable

Following a 12-7 win against Colchester yesterday, the U16’s held on to their unbeaten run as they claimed the county competition title.

This is an amazing achievement and a great end to the season for everyone involved.

To all the players, coaching staff, volunteers and parents or guardians.  The club would like to pass on massive congratulations and we are proud of the outstanding display of form and support.

A Successful Night at the Races!

Thank you to everyone who attended the race night on Saturday, we feel it’s fair to say that for those who attended,  they certainly had an amazing night and it was great fun to be part of.

Jamie Smith, with support of Amy Bond & Tom Bond, did an amazing job of organising this event, probably a better job of most mainstream bookmakers…some of the bidding for the player ‘horses’ were completely overpriced but that’s the bookies for you….and beer…..

Over £1000 was raised for MND and the club, this is a phenomenal amount of generosity.

Our Race Sponsers were:

  • Drain Doctor
  • Amarinth
  • J.T.Few
  • Fat Boys Fitness
  • Labrys
  • Oliver Charles Developments
  • Bell & Steel Yard
  • Eco Concrete Ltd

The club are as always very grateful for the support given to these events.

Finally, thank you to Tracy & Nina for running the bar and keeping the horses well-watered!

WRUFC Members Survey – Closed

The survey is now closed!

Thank you to everyone who made the effort to complete the survey on-line and in the clubhouse.

We will now review the information provided and feedback this data onto the committee, so they can evaluate this as part of the club strategy.

We’d like to pass on our thanks to everyone who took part in the survey.  Every voice matters and we will be publishing the results of the survey very soon.

We are committed to providing the highest possible quality of training provision and facilities at our club so that we can enable all our players to aspire to be the best they can be.

The Committee aims to build a successful club where we can achieve league success and be seen as a dominant force within our region, providing the community with a club to be proud of with the recognition it rightfully deserves.

To support this, we need to ensure our club is well run and commercially focused so we can continue to grow, develop and invest towards our mission. We have produced a survey below that looks at the following key areas:

  • All About Rugby
  • Our Facilities
  • Leadership, Membership & Strategy
  • Feedback

All members/players/volunteers and associates of the club should have received an email last week, so please check your inboxes.  Alternatively please visit the club house to fill in a manual copy or obtain a link from a club co-ordinator or coach who should have this also who we are sure would share this link with you.

The deadline for closure of the survey is Friday 3rd March 2023.  Once we’ve had the chance to review the feedback from the survey we will publish the results to our members, following up on actions or outcomes.
